The University Senate supports two Senate grant programs:
University Senate Research Committee reviews the applications and makes funding decisions.
The Senate Fellowship Award Program is open to IUP faculty members and administrators. Awards of up to $3,500 per investigator or $7,000 for two or more investigators are made on the basis of an annual grant competition. Proposals are due February 12, 2016, and the College Research Committee makes recommendations to the University Senate Research Committee by March 11, 2016. Awards are announced in late April.

The University Senate Research Committee Small Grants Program helps faculty members complete small projects that arise throughout the year. Awards of up to $1,000 for conference travel and up to $2,000 for research and scholarship are made eight times during the academic year.
Model proposals are provided for guidance only; all timely, complete submitted proposals are reviewed and ranked based on merit, content, and adherence to the guidelines. Adherence to a model proposal does not guarantee funding.
