Donald Gamble, director of the Center for Career and Technical Personnel Preparation, received a grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Education for his project, “Career and Technical Education Professional Development Center.”

Robert Wilson, director of the Institute for Mine Mapping, Archival Procedures, and Safety, received funding from the Marcellus Shale Coalition for his project, “Marcellus Shale Coalition Training.”

The award was provided by PA Women Work.

Professor Melvin Jenkins, Department of Developmental Studies, received external funding totaling over $160,000 from the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency for two research projects he is conducting as part of the Act 101 Program.

Wendy Kopczyk, Management Services Group, received support from Penn College of Technology for her project, “WeDnetPA Basic Skills and Information Technology.”

Luis Almeida, Department of Communications Media, received an award of software from Simio, LLC for his project, “Simio LLC Software.”

IUP was represented by three student/faculty teams at the ninth annual Undergraduate Research at the Capitol event, which was held at the State Capitol Building in Harrisburg on October 18, 2011.
