Matt Spangler is the DegreeWorks Support Specialist in IUP's Office of the Registrar. DegreeWorks is a Web-based tool (http://www.iup.edu/page.aspx?id=133441) that enables advisors to view a real-time comparison of a student’s academic coursework against program specific requirements. The information is presented in an easy-to-read color-coded checklist format. Using this tool, advisors can view and track their students’ remaining degree requirements, elective requirements, overall GPA, and several other measures of progress. DegreeWorks has been available for all university advisors since the Fall 2012 Semester, and those who currently utilize it, evaluated it positively and provided useful feedback about it.
