    GREAT TEACHER TRAINING — Hilary Seserko ’13 feels she was well prepared for her role as a teacher at A.G. Richardson Elementary School, Culpepper County Public Schools, in Virginia. “Every class I took, book I read, and student teaching experience I had prepared me for the career that I love today,” she said. “Teaching is my passion. I wouldn’t be where I am without IUP.”

    Master your subject. The Middle-Level Education bachelor of science in education program prepares you to teach grades 4–8 with a specialization in math, English/language arts, social studies, or science. 

    • The Math certification allows you to teach all general subjects in grades 4–6 and be the teacher of record for math in grades 7 and 8.
    • The English/Language Arts certification allows you to teach all general subjects in grades 4–6 and be the teacher of record for English/language arts in grades 7 and 8.
    • The Social Studies certification allows you to teach all general subjects in grades 4–6 and be the teacher of record for social studies in grades 7 and 8.
    • The Science certification allows you to teach all general subjects in grades 4–6 and be the teacher of record for science in grades 7 and 8.
