Dixon Center Courses

  • Take your required coursework with your classmates as a group, progressing through the required sequence of classes together. The two courses offered each fall and spring semester take place at the Dixon University Center, with IUP faculty members using distance technologies.

    Classes will convene on Saturdays, for 10 days during the fall and spring semesters. In the summer, students will attend weekend classes on Fridays and Saturdays.

    Year One:

    • Writing for Professional Publication

    • Democratizing Education: Diversity, Citizenship and Social Justice

    Spring: Six Credits

    • Emerging Technologies in Education
    • Literacy: Theory, Research, and Practice

    Summer: Six Credits

    • Innovation in Curriculum and Instruction
    • Research Proposals and Peer Review Processes

    Year Three:

    Fall: Six Credits

    • Comprehensive Evaluation of Educational Programs
    • Quantitative Data Analysis

    Spring: Six Credits

    • Qualitative and Mixed Methods Research in Education
    • Elective

    Summer: Six Credits

    • Dissertation

    Year Four:
