The University Police Department employs twenty-one full-time, commissioned police officers at the Indiana Campus and one full-time and one part-time commissioned police officers at the Punxsutawney regional campus to provide police protection to the university twenty-four hours a day. The department has a Criminal Investigations Unit that consists of two full-time investigators, and a Bicycle Patrol Unit that consists of seven full-time officers. There is also a Crime Prevention Unit that consists of full-time officers who dedicate their shifts to patrolling inside the residence halls and providing crime prevention programs, as requested.
