About the University Police

The University Police Department employs seventeen full-time commissioned police officers at the Indiana Campus and two full-time commissioned police officers at the Punxsutawney regional campus to provide police protection to the university twenty-four hours a day.

The department has a Criminal Investigations Unit that consists of one full-time investigator, and a Bicycle Patrol Unit that consists of six full-time officers. There is also a Crime Prevention Unit that consists of full-time officers who dedicate their shifts to patrolling inside the residence halls and providing crime prevention programs as requested.
