Devki Talwar, Department of Physics, was one of the five faculty members from undergraduate institutions across the nation who participated in a hands-on Semiconductor-based Pressure Sensor Workshop, October 13–17, 2009, in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Karolina Janicka, who graduated with an M.S. degree in 2005 under the supervision of Dr. Devki Talwar, published an article titled “Quantum Nature of Two-Dimensional Electron Gas at LaAl03/SrTiO3 Interfaces” in Physical Review Letters, Vol. 102, 106803 (2009).

The Western Pennsylvania Section of the American Association of Physics Teachers fall meeting will take place on October 3, 2009. Anyone interested in Physics is welcome to attend.

After finishing his M.S. degree in 2009, Joshua D. Wood was admitted into the physics Ph.D. program with graduate assistantship at the University of South Carolina.
