Department of Physics

Physics is the underpinning of all science, and more and more it is becoming an important practical component of engineering and medical science, biology, and chemistry.

If you believe you have some mathematical aptitude and may be interested in spending your life working with atoms, molecules, plasmas, lasers, semiconductors, nanoparticles, nuclei, astrophysics, or any other type of science, we want to help you get there. Come explore the secrets of Einstein, Newton, Bohr, and countless others ... and have fun doing it.

The faculty and staff of the Physics Department are committed to providing the finest undergraduate and graduate learning environment available. Quality, coupled with the low cost of education at IUP, brings an exciting career in science within reach for everyone.

At IUP, Physics students are not numbers, as they often find themselves in larger universities, but individual brains with individual potentials. We are here to help you reach those potentials.

Come study physics with us at the Department of Physics at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

We’re taking extra time to build our new site. Please check back later.
