Dr. Brad Rives’ article “The Empirical Case Against Analyticity: Two Options for Concept Pragmatists” was published in the May 2009 issue of Minds and Machines: Journal for Artificial Intelligence, Philosophy, and Cognitive Science.

The Department of Philosophy is pleased to announce that Dr. Hans Pedersen will be joining the faculty as a visiting assistant professor for the 2009–2010 academic year.

Dr. Brad Rives from the Department of Philosophy received a National Endowment for the Humanities Summer Fellowship to participate in a six-week Summer Seminar on Metaphysics and Mind.

At the American Philosophical Association Central Division meeting (February 20, 2009, Chicago, Ill.), Dr. Brad Rives from the Department of Philosophy will give a talk entitled “Can the Analytic Data Be Explained Away?”
