Civil leave may be used for suboenaed court appearances, including:
Evidence of the required court attendance in the form of a subpoena or other written notification must be provided to the employee’s supervisor to forward to the Office of Human Resources.
Civil leave may also be granted to an employee who performs firefighting duties; emergency medical technician duties; civil air patrol activities; emergency management rescue work during a fire, flood, hurricane, or other disaster; or disaster relief work as a certified Red Cross disaster relief volunteer during a state of emergency declared by the governor. A written statement certifying the employee’s activies during the absence must be provided to the employee’s supervisor to forward to the Office of Human Resources.
