Green Light Campaign

Green Light logo

September 4–6, 2012

The Green Light Campaign is part of the Haven Project’s effort to spread awareness about the vital role consent plays in sexual relationships. “Getting the Green Light” means making sure that you have consent during any sexual activity, not just intercourse. Be certain that you both want the same thing. This ensures that you are not only staying safe and responsible with your partners, but also that you are both enjoying the experience!

The green button has been the symbol of the Green Light Campaign. When someone asks, “What’s up with the button?” you get a chance to speak out against sexual violence. You can tell folks it represents a commitment to making campus safe for all of us. It’s a reminder that sexual violence shouldn’t be a part of campus life. It means that you are part of a large group of students who think consent is important in any relationship. Did we say large group? Sure did. We give away thousands of buttons every year.
