In order to ensure that proposal submissions are consistent with the university’s research agenda; are formulated in accordance with all applicable policies, procedures, and regulations; and are of the highest professional quality, the university requires signature authorization for all proposals prior to submission.
Principal investigators are required to obtain signatures on the Proposal Authorization Form and the Proposal Budget Authorization Form prior to submission. Research Institute grant and contract specialists can provide guidance and assistance in preparing the forms, as well as facilitate review by the Proposal Review Committee.
In accordance with university and Research Institute policies, all proposals are required to include indirect costs at the university’s current rate, or at the maximum rate allowed by the sponsor, whichever is lower. In special circumstances, the university may consider waiving or reducing proposed indirect costs. Please work with the RI grant and contract specialist for your proposal to request a waving or reducing the indirect costs.
