There is currently a lab technician position open at Ferro Corporation in Washington, PA.
The primary function of this position is the testing of finished and in-process goods in order to make a determination of fitness for use, certifying product to the customer, communicating quality issues and resolving end user and internal product performance issues.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Testing of finished and in-process materials as described in SAP QC recipe and according to cited methods.
• Certify products to customers, record test results in SAP database, release orders and move inventory to unrestricted stock.
• Determine and initiate doctors for off-spec finished and in-process material.
• Investigate and resolve customer complaints.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimally a high school diploma is required; some college or bachelors degree preferred. Requires good math skills - including Algebra. Must have good communication and computer skills and be willing to work shifts and overtime. Must be able to keep the workflow moving with minimal supervision. A strong work ethic and desire to take on increasing responsibility is highly desirable. The ability to navigate throughout the SAP system is a necessary qualification for this position. Must exercise good judgment and have a customer focus to work. Must possess good attention to detail, and have experience in a laboratory setting.
