Fall 2009 Scholarships
Deadline for Fall 2009 scholarships is Monday, November 30, 2009, by noon.
Alexa J. Boyer Emerick Nursing Scholarship
The purpose of this scholarship is to assist outstanding and deserving junior and/or senior students who are enrolled in the Nursing curriculum at IUP.
The criteria for eligibility include:
- Junior or senior standing in the Nursing program
- Grade point average of at least 3.0 or greater
- Demonstrate participation in school and/or community activities as well as a commitment to serving or assisting others

Brody Foundation Scholarship for Nursing

Edna B. McKenzie Scholarship for Disadvantaged Students
The purpose of this scholarship is to provide a new source of financial support for disadvantaged students in Pennsylvania who are pursuing a degree in Nursing.

Ella B. Seanor Leadership in Nursing Award
The purpose of this scholarship is to recognize and honor a graduating senior in the Department of Nursing and Allied Health who has demonstrated a commitment to the high standards of professional nursing and who demonstrated exemplary leadership/service.
The criteria for eligibility include:
- Graduating senior
- Grade point average of at least 3.0 or greater
- Demonstrates exemplary leadership within the graduating class
- Demonstrates a commitment to the high standards of Nursing

Kay Staszkiewicz Memorial Scholarship
Kay Staszkiewicz, the mother of IUP faculty member Mark J. Staszkiewicz, was tragically killed in an automobile accident in 1996. To honor and recognize the value Mrs. Staszkiewicz placed upon education and, in particular, her professional area of Nursing, Dr. Staszkiewicz and his family have established a scholarship to serve as a living legacy for his mother.
The criteria for eligibility include:
- At least junior standing (57-90 credits) in the Nursing program and enrollment on a full-time basis at the university
- Scholarship recipient must be a nontraditional student
- Demonstrate a commitment to high standards of professional practices in the field of Nursing

- Graham Sefton Baskin and Anna Mae Sweeney Baskin Foundation — Open to those attending or who attended high school in Indiana County, Pennsylvania, with preference for those attending or who attended Marion Center High School. Specific criteria and application can be found on the bulletin board outside of 228 Johnson Hall and from your high school guidance counselor.

- Pauline Thompson Nursing Education Scholarship — This award is open to nursing students in an accredited baccalaureate, associate degree or RN-to-BSN completion program.

Pauline Thompson Clinical Nursing Research Award — This award is open to applicants who have a research interest focused on a clinical nursing topic, which directly affects patient/client care.
