The Department of Art cultivates an expansive approach to artmaking through a challenging graduate curriculum.

The graduate program fosters individual vision and innovation within and across media and processes. Students receive intensive study with and mentorship from dedicated and accomplished artists, and careful guidance and preparation for a successful professional artistic career.

Areas of study include Painting, Drawing, Jewelry and Metals, Ceramics, Sculpture, Fibers, and Wood Turning and Furniture Design. Full-time students are provided individual studios and have full access to well-equipped facilities.

Students may also choose to participate in one of the Department of Art’s International Exchange programs as an integral part of their graduate course of study.

Degrees offered: Master of Arts (M.A.) and Master of Fine Arts (M.F.A.)
