Your homepage has a collection of links on it that we refer to as your highlights collection. Use it to feature content that isn’t immediately visible on your menu.
The name highlights—chosen by the Web Team—may be a little misleading. We’ve seen a number of departments include a link to their faculty directory here because they feel, and rightly so, that their faculty are the highlight of their department.
However, the real purpose of these links is to make it easier for visitors to jump deep into your site to get to important content. If that content is already on the menu, as the faculty directory is, also including it on your highlights collection increases page clutter and may make it more difficult for visitors to find other important content.
