An Internet connection on a Windows XP computer can become damaged because of spyware installed on a machine. Removing some programs (some spyware or otherwise) can also cause this problem.
WinsockXPFix.exe may be able to fix this problem. If you have an unexplained network problem after removing software, you can download WinsockXPFix.exe as freeware at snapfiles.com. If you are having network problems, you can contact Resnet if you're in the residence halls, or IT Support Center if you live off campus or need help with the on-campus wireless.
