Lab Technician Wanted in Homer City

Prime Metals & Alloys, Inc. is looking for a full-time Laboratory Technician in their Quality & Technical Services Department.

Job summary: Assist Laboratory Manager with the coordination of activities in the laboratory. Provides hands on operation of lab equipment. Responsibilities include performing laboratory functions in a manner that ensures a clean and safe working environment for fellow employees and visitors, and maintains equipment in good working order.   Operation of all laboratory equipment including, but not limited to, Broker OE, Panalytical  X-ray Flouresence,  Leco gas determinators,  Perkin Elmer ICP, and sample preparation equipment.  Provide assistance to Laboratory Manager.   Assist with the creation of work instructions and with employee training. Provide leadership by example to fellow employees.  Maintain accurate record keeping of lab samples and results. Works co-operatively with other personnel to meet or exceed the company goals.

Summary of essential job functions: A basic working knowledge of the laboratory equipment and processes in the lab is required.   Ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously is essential.

Minimum educational requirements: A two year degree in a related discipline or three years experience as a Chemical Laboratory Technician and a high school diploma is required.  A four year degree and a minimum of two years of experience are preferred.

Physical abilities required: The ability to lift 50 lbs on an intermittent basis is required.  Physical mobility is necessary.
