Paul Price's academic niche is right where he loves to be most. An avid outdoorsman who enjoys kayaking, four-wheeling, and especially geocaching, Paul is a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) major in the IUP Geography and Regional Planning Department.
Paul returned to IUP after serving for a year in Iraq with the National Guard, and likes that his academic work takes him outside the classroom. He has helped with a Pennsylvania environmental project to connect several bike trails near IUP, and he completed an internship at Eastern American Energy Corporation. "I can't think of a better way to spend a summer," Paul said. "I participated in the full life cycle of GIS." Paul, who as a student has worked part-time for the local ambulance service, aspires to work in the GIS field in a state such as Alaska or Montana.
