Senate Awards General Criteria and Supporting Materials

Each candidate must submit a Personal Statement and Vita focusing on the last five years. All application packages should also include a Table of Contents for the supporting materials addressed below:

Teaching

Submit a maximum of three (3) examples in any of the categories below. Applications can and should address as many categories as appropriate, but you should choose only your three strongest examples for submission in each category. While the strongest applications are likely to address more than one category, please note that it is not necessary to address every category. For teaching award applications, five (5) years of student evaluation summaries and peer observations are required.

  • Professional Memberships
  • Innovative Teaching Strategies
  • Honors/Awards
  • Innovative Assessment Strategies
  • Letters of Support
  • Advisement/Mentoring

(Chair or dean’s letters are recommended)

Research

Submit a maximum of three (3) examples in any of the categories below. Applications can and should address as many categories as appropriate, but you should choose only your three strongest examples for submission in each category.   • Publications (Peer Reviewed, Scholarly, Acceptance Rate)
  • Presentations (International, National, Regional, State, Local)
  • Grants

  • Mentoring
  • Letters of Support

Supporting materials are due by 4:00 p.m. on January 29, 2010. Submit them in one package to Dr. Joette Wisnieski in 304 Eberly Hall. Please call (724) 357-5912 to schedule a time for drop-off.
