The College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) helps students earn credit for what they already know, regardless of how that knowledge was acquired.
By receiving a satisfactory score on a CLEP exam, students can earn college credits toward a college degree, depending on the exam subject and the policy of the department.
CLEP exams test mastery of college-level material acquired in a variety of ways: through general academic instruction, significant independent study, or extracurricular work.
The computer-based CLEP tests are given by appointment only. Please call the Testing Center for scheduling information.
Fees
An $80 test fee (payable by credit card, [the preferred method of payment] on the day of the examination or in advance by check payable to “College Level Examination Program”) and a nonrefundable $25 administrative fee per test payable to IUP through Marketplace. The administrative fee must be paid before scheduling your test.
