Sonneborn Refined Products seeks candidates with an interest in Summer Internship and/or Co-op opportunities as a Lab Technician at its Petrolia, Pa. facility. Most of our Chemists have been hired out of the summer internship program including most recently a 2009 graduate and 2008 summer intern.
Ideally, you will have:
- Completed three years of undergraduate studies
- Major in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
- Basic knowledge of college-level chemistry and chemical names/terminology
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; and demonstrated computer ability
However, you are also encouraged to apply, if you have:
- Completed at least two years of undergraduate studies
- Recently been awarded your B.S. degree
- Major in Environmental Engineering or Science, Mechanical Engineering, Petrochemical Engineering, or similar studies.
Lab Technician activities typically include:
- Perform chemical analyses, tests and determinations
- Learn and develop ability to interpret test results and determine their technical significance
- Oversee an individually assigned lab for the summer.
We seek candidates for both (candidate may express interest in either, or both):
- Summer Interns – classic, full time schedule in summer months
- Co-op – working with you and your college to identify a role that fits availability and needs of the student and our organization.
Co-op opportunity could begin immediately.
