Part 2: Application Procedures for Credit Course Programs Offered through Adult and Continuing Education

Application Deadlines

Deadlines to apply for entrance to the Office of Adult and Continuing Education:

  • Fall semester: August 15
  • Spring semester: December 15

What You Should Know

  • An Orientation is provided for all new students.
  • All students will be assigned an academic advisor to help with course schedule planning.
  • Students will register through the Office of Adult and Continuing Education.
  • A fee of $50 is required for each application.
  • Tuition and fees are payable at registration.
  • All students are responsible for providing their own housing.

Part-Time Undergraduate Program

High School Graduates

Applicants without prior college credit must submit a high school transcript reflecting the date of graduation or a copy of the GED certificate.

Veterans

Applicants must provide a copy of their DD214 along with either a high school transcript or GED and all official college transcripts.

Transfers

Applicants must submit transcripts of all previous college-level coursework attempted. Official transcripts must be mailed directly from the issuing institution to the Office of Adult and Continuing Education. Applicants currently enrolled at another college or university must have the final transcript submitted at the conclusion of the semester of study. The transcript must reflect final grades earned.

Visiting High School Students

Applicants must submit a high school transcript and a letter of support from a guidance counselor or principal.

Postbaccalaureate Undergraduate Program

Additional Certification or Special Status

Applicants must provide official transcript(s) from all college(s) previously attended. Transcript(s) must be sent directly from the previous college(s) to the Office of Adult and Continuing Education. Applicants currently enrolled at another college must have an official transcript submitted at the close of the current session. The transcript must reflect final grades earned.

Admissions Decisions

The Office of Adult and Continuing Education makes admissions decisions are made on a rolling basis: that is, applications are reviewed upon receipt of all supporting documentation. No action will be taken on your application until all required credentials as outlined above have been received.

Financial Aid

Students accepted for admission to IUP should contact the Financial Aid Office to determine eligibility. Please inform Financial Aid of your Continuing Education enrollment category.

Summer School 

Summer school is an open enrollment period, and attendance in no way constitutes admission to IUP. Students who wish to apply credits earned in summer school to an IUP degree or certification program must make application to the Office of Adult and Continuing Education or the Admissions office. Summer scheduling information is available from the Scheduling Office, Clark Hall.
