General Recruitment Information

IUP has a deferred recruitment system, which means that students may participate in the recruitment process only when they meet the following criteria:

  • They are enrolled as full-time undergraduate students.
  • They earn and maintain a minimum 2.25 cumulative grade-point average.
  • They have successfully earned a minimum of 12 credit hours at IUP or transferred to IUP with a minimum of 12 credit hours from another college or university. Credits accumulated during high school do not count towards this minimum.

Deferred Recruitment Policy

Join us for Meet the Greeks on August 26 and 27, 2015, in the Oak Grove from noon–4:00 p.m.! Each of our chapters will be in the Oak Grove to discuss Greek Life and meet potential new members. Rain location: HUB Ohio Room.

Interfraternity Council Recruitment

Fall recruitment is open to students meeting the deferred recruitment criteria.

Fall 2015 recruitment dates are September 14–27, 2015.

Open recruitment events are September 14–19, 2015.

Closed recruitment events (invitation only) are September 20–26, 2015.

Fraternities will give out bids for membership on September 27, 2015.

If you would like to meet each of the nine IFC chapters prior to the start of Open Recruitment, join us in the HUB Ohio Room from 6:30–8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 8, for Get Him to the Greek.

Panhellenic Association Recruitment

Fall 2015 recruitment events for those interested in our Panhellenic chapters kicks off on September 8, 2015, in the HUB Delaware Room at 8:00 p.m. Stop by kick-off to learn about each of our 11 PHA sororities. Chapters will plan and organize their own events after kick-off. Look around campus and check social media for announcements regarding individual recruitment events.

National Pan-Hellenic Council Intake

The National Pan-Hellenic Council does not organize a councilwide intake or recruitment event. Individual chapters are responsible for their intake. Look around campus for flyers about interest meetings for individual chapters.

The NPHC will host their own Meet the Greeks on Wednesday, September 2, 2015, at 7:00 p.m. in the HUB Ohio Room. Come by to learn more about our NPHC organizations!

Multicultural Greek Council Intake

The Multicultural Greek Council does not organize a councilwide intake or recruitment event. Individual chapters are responsible for their intake. Look around campus for flyers about interest meetings for individual chapters.
