General Recruitment Information

IUP has a deferred recruitment system, which means that students may participate in the recruitment process only when they meet the following criteria:

  • They are enrolled as full-time undergraduate students.
  • They earn and maintain a minimum 2.25 cumulative grade-point average.
  • They have successfully earned a minimum of 12 credit hours at IUP or transferred to IUP with a minimum of 12 credit hours from another college or university. Credits accumulated during high school do not count towards this minimum.

Interfraternity Council Recruitment

Spring recruitment is open to students meeting the deferred recruitment criteria.

Spring 2015 recruitment dates are TBA.

Open recruitment events are TBA.

Closed (invitation only) is TBA.

Fraternities will give out bids for membership is TBA.

Panhellenic Association Recruitment

Spring recruitment events for all women (including second semester, first-year students) kick off on January 28, 2015, in the HUB Ohio Room at 8:00pm.  Watch for flyers around campus for more information. IUP's Panhellenic Association organizes this recruitment process. You can register here.

Panhellenic recruitment will last from January 30, 2015 until February 8, 2015.

National Pan-Hellenic Council Intake

The National Pan-Hellenic Council does not organize a council-wide intake or recruitment event. Individual chapters are responsible for their intake. Look around campus for flyers about interest meetings for individual chapters.
