CMS Access through the Workarea

The preferred way to edit Web content is using a Web-based interface called the Workarea.

There are two ways to access the Workarea:

  1. Click the Workarea button found on the login page after logging in. This will open the work area either in a new tab or a new window (depending on your browser’s settings).

  2. On any page being viewed on Staging, when not in preview mode, right-click within the colored box around any piece of content and select Workarea from the popup menu. Note: If you want to edit a particular piece of content you’ve found in the Web browser, right-click on the content to make the popup menu appear, and select Properties (selecting Workarea will open the Workarea to the topmost level, meaning that you will then need to navigate down to the folder that contains the web content). sample_toolbar1.png

The following screen presents the basic components of the CMS Workarea: approve-1

These tabs are available horizontally across the top of the CMS Workarea window:

  • Desktop – This tab takes you back to the Smart Desktop, the first view whenever the Workarea is opened.
  • Content – Use this tab to view, add, or edit Web content.
  • Library – Use this tab to store and work with images.
  • Settings – Use this tab to access online documentation, change your password, e-mail address, etc.
  • Reports –
  • Help – This tab brings up Ektron’s help reference materials.

As you click on the links on the left side of the Workarea, the pages will appear on the right side of the browser window.
