An IUP student in the Oak Grove

The Allegheny Arboretum spans the entire 354-acre IUP campus.

On the north campus, there are 1,320 trees representing seventy-six tree species. The arboretum aims to document and care for these living treasures that give IUP’s campus its lush appearance at all corners—especially the beloved Oak Grove along Oakland Avenue.

There are several ways that you can support the Allegheny Arboretum at IUP.

  • Memorial Tree: $500 — A tree in memory or in honor of a special person provides a lasting tribute, while enhancing the beauty of the IUP campus. The trees include a recognition tag placed on the tree.
  • Memorial Bench: $1,500 — The new benches are black lacquered metal benches that fit beautifully with the Victorian style of the historical campus. The bench includes a plaque that can be used to recognize someone special.
  • Unrestricted Support — These gifts will be used for the Arboretum’s greatest area of need.

Other projects may be available. Please see the Allegheny Arboretum website for more information.

If you would like to make a gift to the Arboretum, visit IUP’s secure giving site and enter account number 8481 in the Other Field.

Please indicate if you are purchasing a tree or a bench, and a staff member will be in contact with you regarding your recognition plaque information.

You may also call the Office of Annual Giving at 724-357-5555 with questions or to set up a contribution.
