- Drs. Sarah Neusius and Beverly Chiarulli from the Department of Anthropology presented papers on their research in western Pennsylvania at the Mid-Atlantic Archaeological Conference in Ocean City, Md., and at the Society for Pennsylvania Archaeology in Harrisburg, Pa.

- Travis Receives Educator of the Year Award from Armstrong Conservation District
- Dr. Holly Travis, a faculty member in the Biology department at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, was named 2008 Educator of the Year at the annual meeting of the Armstrong Conservation District on March 13, 2009. Travis was recognized for her work in several environmental education activities in the area.

- Dr. George R. Long, professor of Chemistry at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, was recognized Wednesday for Outstanding Achievement in Curriculum and Instruction during the fifteenth annual Awards Luncheon.

- Susan Dawkins, Department of Developmental Studies, contributed two chapters to Bruce Colbert’s college success textbook, Navigating Your Future: An Interactive Journey to Personal and Academic Success, and wrote the instructor's manual for the text.

- Dr. Danhua Wang, of the Department of Developmental Studies, published a research article in the Journal of College Reading and Learning, a referred journal.
- Video Professor and Students Win Film Competition Awards
- Dr. Erick Lauber and several of his students at the Digital Media Institute have won three awards in recent film competitions.
