Christie Ritchey, a Biology major in the honors track, has studied melatonin to learn why certain biological processes occur during different times, such as the sleep-wake cycle in humans.
Besides the scientific knowledge she has gained from her research at IUP, she has also learned about the time and dedication that research requires, she said.
