- Art Professor Turner Receives Honorable Mention at International Competition
- Ceramics professor Kevin Turner is the recipient of an Honorable Mention for his ceramic work submitted to the Kerameikon International Competition in Croatia.
- Larkin Awarded $60,000 to Study Golden-winged Warbler Ecology and Conservation
- Dr. Jeff Larkin was recently awarded a $60,000 grant to continue his research on “Golden-winged Warbler Response to Habitat Manipulation in Pennsylvania.”
- IUP Faculty Member Part of Fallen Marine Memorial Run
- Doctoral student and professor Karl Roeper has been active with the Fallen Marine Memorial Run, a charity motorcycle event, since it started in 2006. The run honors marines who were killed or disabled in action and helps raise money for their families.
- Marshak Speaks at International Family Therapy Association Conference
- Dr. Laura Marshak, a professor in the Department of Counseling, was a presenter for the International Family Therapy Association annual conference in Slovenia in March. The conference’s main audience was married and family therapists across the world.

- Works and Days, published by David Downing and edited by Ed Carvalho, was recently featured in the New York Times.
- Miller’s Policy Proposal Accepted at English Education Conference
- SJ Miller’s policy proposal, “Moving Social Justice in English Education from Theory to Policy,” was accepted as a new research strand for the Conference on English Education to be held in Chicago, June 18–21. Participants will work on a draft to develop a national policy for social justice related to schooling.

- Schwietz Publishes Book on Internationalization
- Michele Schwietz's book, Internationalization of the Academic Profession: Faculty Attitudes, Beliefs and Involvement at Public Universities in Pennsylvania, was recently published by VDM Verlag. The book summarizes research that describes faculty members’ role in the internationalization of higher education, which is defined as the process of integrating an international or intercultural dimension in the teaching, research, and service functions of an institution (Knight, 2004).
