The Facilities Operations Group has the responsibility for maintaining and repairing the physical facilities and mechanical systems of the university in a cost-effective manner. In addition, the group provides construction services for departmental funded renovations and specially funded building and campus upgrades. The Construction and Maintenance group has a diversified staff representing various trades, as well as management staff for planning jobs and managing outside contractors.

Below is a list of University Maintenance Services:

Afternoon Shift
Maintenance for the repairs and emergencies which occur on the 3:00 to 11:00 p.m shift
Automotive Shop
Automotive services and fleet vehicles are available for use by faculty and staff for official university business
Carpentry Shop
Carpenter shop as well as locksmith services
Custodial Services
Responsible for day-to-day upkeep of university buildings 
Electric Shop
Maintenance of electrical needs for all the academic buildings on campus
Grounds
Maintenance of 240 acres of cultivated and uncultivated property owned by IUP
Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning
Heating and cooling maintenance
Mechanical Shop
Machine shop, including elevator maintenance and swimming pools
Non-Maintenance Facility Repairs
While maintenance workers do maintain most of the facilities on campus, there are certain equipment and services other departments maintain.
Paint Shop
This shop consists of one painter/plasterer, four painters, and one sign painter.
Plumbing
Maintenance of plumbing for seventy buildings
