There are several ways to submit a service request; the appropriate way to submit it depends on the urgency of the situation and the amount of work to be done.
Emergency
The Emergency category should be assigned to a situation if there is imminent physical danger. If a situation like this should arise, call 9-911 (on campus) first. Then, call the maintenance department at 724-357-2710. Emergency situations that arise between 11:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. should be referred to the University Police at 724-357-2141, who will alert on-call maintenance personnel.
Urgent
The Urgent category should be assigned to a situation if it needs to be corrected on the same day. Failing to resolve the issue on that day would result in physical damage to a building or facility. These types of situations should be referred to the maintenance office by phone, 724-357-2710.
Routine
Any request that does not need same-day attention should be considered routine maintenance. The request will be added to the queue of routine maintenance. We do recognize that there are some requests that are time sensitive, and these requests may receive preferential treatment, determined by the shop foremen. Project
New work that is a modification of university facilities must be supervised by the facilities group. Requests for renovations of any scale should be submitted via SchoolDude or by calling the maintenance office at 724-357-2710. Shortly after submission, a member of the facilities management group will get in touch with you about the details of the project.
