Adolescent Depression: From Identification to Therapeutic Approaches

John McCarthy, Ph.D., NCC

Adolescent depression can affect various dimensions of a teen’s life: social, academic, sexual, and occupational. In addition, the rates of subsequent depressive episodes are significant. This workshop will offer an introduction to teen depression before covering assessment from both a mental health professional and an adolescent perspective. Empirically validated approaches to treatment will also be discussed.
