Once I’ve completed and submitted my application, what is my next step?
Once you have completed and submitted an application, you must request consideration for the position for which you are applying. To have your application pulled for a posted job opening, e-mail human-resources@iup.edu or phone 724-357-2431. Please provide your name, address, and the position announcement number.
How do I take the university-sponsored typing test?
Applicants for clerk typist positions will be required to successfully complete the university-sponsored typing test as part of the interview process. Proof of successful Pennsylvania civil service typing test will be accepted. Attach a copy of your test results to your application.
When and how will I know that I’ve been selected for an interview?
Once the posting period is closed, please allow two to four weeks for the review of applications and the selection of candidates to be interviewed. If you are selected for an interview, you will be contacted by telephone.
Will IUP conduct a background investigation?
Candidates who are interviewed must sign an authorization that allows the university to conduct a background investigation (See Background Investigation Policy). A background investigation will be conducted on the successful candidate, and an offer of employment is contingent upon the results of the background investigation.
How will I know if the position I applied for has been filled?
When the position has been filled, the successful bidder or applicant will be listed on the Human Resources website under Successful Bidders and Applicants.
