Dear Colleague:
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce you to the 2009 graduates of the Student Affairs in Higher Education (SAHE) master’s program at IUP who will soon be seeking new employment. We are very proud of our students and believe the preparation they have received will serve our profession well. If you have staff vacancies in your division, please either share the attached resumes with the appropriate colleagues or direct them to the Mini-Resume link on our website for electronic access.
Our 42-credit program spans two years, culminates in a comprehensive exam, and exceeds all CAS Standards. The four full-time faculty members (Dr. Holley Belch, Dr. John Wesley Lowery, Dr. John Mueller, and I) comprise an independent academic department focused exclusively on the preparation of student affairs professionals. During our program’s thirty-eight-year history, more than eight hundred graduates have been placed in professional roles across the country. This year’s graduates are ready and eager to begin their professional careers. All of these students have had a variety of practical experiences to complement their rigorous academic work. They understand the history, literature, and theory base of our profession and are eager to apply their knowledge and experiences in a challenging and rewarding professional position.
I encourage you to contact students directly if you see one or several for which you have interest. Many of our students will be attending either the ACPA or NASPA convention this year, so convention placement services may also provide an opportunity for contact.
