Common questions asked about tutoring
Job Description
Tutoring is the primary function of the Writing Center; it is also the highest priority.
Becoming A Tutor
Do I need to be a grammar expert to be a tutor? Tutors aren’t proofreaders. No one will expect you to read students’ papers and correct their mechanics to produce error-free drafts. Tutors aren’t critics either.
Tutor Application
Employment as a tutor in the Writing Center occurs on a semester-by-semester basis. You will need to reapply each term.
