The Academy of Culinary Arts will interview for the following positions at the start of the Fall semester. Interested students should fill out the Culinary Application for Student Employment.
Open House Student Ambassadors
Six to twelve students wanted to work admissions open houses one Saturday per month. Students will set up food and beverages, answer questions from prospective students, and assist with tours of the Culinary Academy.
Qualifications: Friendly, enthusiastic, dependable! Applicants will interview with a chef instructor and culinary admissions.
Van Drivers
Two students (and one alternate) wanted to drive IUP vans between the Living/Learning Center and the academy.
Qualifications: Good driving record, responsible
Storeroom Assistants
Chef Sones, our purchasing agent, will be hiring student workers for positions in the academy’s receiving kitchen and storeroom. See Chef Sones for more details and an application.
Qualifications: Friendly, enthusiastic, dependable, and a morning person!
Student Blogger/Reporter
The Admissions Office will be hiring one student to help us prepare Web materials to showcase student life at the
IUP ACA. You will write a weekly blog for the culinary website using your own classroom experience and photos along with information and digital photos collected from other culinary students.
Qualifications: Good writing and photography skills, enthusiastic, creative
Student Office Worker for Culinary Admissions
The Admissions Office will be hiring two Baking students to do general office work and assist with mid-week admissions visit programs and special projects.
Qualifications: Good basic computer skills, good attention to detail, professional and flexible
We are always on the lookout for Culinary Alumni Ambassadors. Graduates of Culinary Arts who are current students in Hospitality Management or Food and Nutrition at IUP can apply at any time for the following positions:
Alumni Ambassadors for Telecounseling
The Admissions Office will be hiring two culinary or culinary/baking graduates who are current IUP students in Hospitality Management or Food and Nutrition to call prospective IUP ACA students. You will answer questions about Culinary Arts at IUP, talk about your own experience at the academy, and offer advice about applying for admission to the academy. These positions are based at home.
Qualifications: Dependable, self-starter, outgoing, friendly, positive, professional, and must have a good phone presence!
Alumni Ambassadors for Open House
The Admissions Office will hire culinary or culinary-baking graduates who are current IUP students in Hospitality Management or Food and Nutrition to work culinary admissions open houses one Saturday per month. Students will assist with open house facilitation, greet and talk with prospective students and their families, and assist chef instructors as needed.
Qualifications: Dependable, outgoing, friendly, positive, professional
