- Journeyman Carpenter: United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, Western Pennsylvania District Council—Pittsburgh, Pa., June 1984 through 1999. Worked in all facets of commercial carpentry/construction including layout, concrete form construction, scaffolding, metal framing/drywall systems, casework, office furniture systems.
- Safety Manager: Berry Enterprises. More than 7,000 pieces of pre-cast concrete erected without an OSHA recordable accident.
- Vista Volunteer/Community Organizer: Housing Action Coalition—Indiana, Pa. Provided paralegal counseling.
