Activities supported by the institute will include
- Coordination of IUP activities in Information Assurance
- Coordination of IUP based research and publication in Information Assurance
- Provision of consultancy to neighboring companies and small businesses concerning security in computing and Information Assurance
- Provision of leadership to surrounding community colleges and technical schools through conductance of workshops in Information Assurance
- Encouraging and coordinating the involvement of IUP professors in seeking external funding for furthering activities in Information Assurance at IUP
- Procuring and maintaining partnership between IUP and strongly security oriented companies in the vicinity (like Concurrent Technologies Corporation)
- Promoting faculty and student awareness of Information Assurance at IUP
- Provision of internship opportunities for students to gain hands on experience as they work with faculty research projects and/or community projects
- Coordination of courses in Information Assurance as they are taught at IUP by the various departments involved with the Institute
- Provision of training and certification seminars and workshops for businesses and other partner institutions
