Academic Interests

Dr. Sharon K. Deckert’s research focuses on the semiotic mechanisms and processes that are used to construct identities in ongoing interactions. In particular, she has focused on how individuals co-construct identities that function for particular purposes. Her work includes examinations for how children co-construct identities with adults in forensic interviews.
