Questions about suite-style housing on campus. See below for more housing related FAQs.

What styles of suites are available?

When will the suites be open for occupancy?

I am a new freshman (or transfer) student. How do I apply to live on campus?

Shortly after you pay your admissions deposit, you will receive a housing packet which has specific information which explains how to apply for on-campus housing. If you are interested in living in the new suites, it is very important to complete your housing application without delay since we anticipate spaces will fill up quickly.

How much do the suites cost per semester, and is that per person per suite?

See Housing and Dining Prices.

In addition, students who reside in the suites will be assessed a nonrefundable Commons Fee on a yearly basis, which covers common and community space maintenance and upkeep. This charge will appear on the university billing statement.

Can I choose to live with a specific roommate(s)?

Yes. When you complete an on-line housing application, you will have an opportunity to select one or more roommates, with the number of roommates depending on the style of suite. When applying on-line, there will be a space to indicate the name(s) of your preferred roommate(s). The roommates you selected will also need to complete an on-line housing application, and return an $80 deposit within two weeks of the time you apply. If, the roommate you have selected does not complete the on-line housing application within two weeks of the date you completed your on-line housing application, the space(s) you have saved for your intended roommate(s) will be relinquished.

Note: We will make every effort to meet your roommate request. However, there is a chance that your request will not be able to be fulfilled.

Will my financial aid be adjusted to reflect the costs of the new suites?

The Financial Aid Office can help you with any financial aid questions.

Is a housing prepayment required for the suites?

Yes. As with all on-campus housing, an $80 nonrefundable housing prepayment is required with your on-line housing application. The housing prepayment can be made using IUP’s Easy Pay System. Individuals who are unable to use a credit or debit card for the housing prepayment should mail or drop off a check or money order (made out to IUP) at the Office of Bursar within two weeks after applying for housing in the suites.

Please keep in mind that students who do not make their prepayment within two weeks of completing their on-line housing application will relinquish their space in the suite, and will be assigned to another on campus housing location but in no way invalidates your housing contract.

Can men and women live together in individual suite units?

Although both new housing facilities will have both men and women assigned in each, all residents of an individual suite unit must be the same gender.

If I apply to live in the new suites, but they are filled, are there any other options available?
