Connecting Your Cable Ready Television

Use an appropriate length of cable to connect from the "F" connector box to the "F" connector on the back of your television. This is your standard television coaxial cable connection.

How to Get All the Channels on a Cable Ready Television

If your television is only receiving the first thirteen channels, you need to program your television for all channels. Some things to check:

  • Using your remote go to your setup menu and:
    • Make sure your input is set to “cable” and not “antenna”
    • Run the Program Search or Auto Program function so your television can find all of the channels

Please note that all televisions have different menu options. Consult your owner’s manual if you cannot find the above functions.

Connecting Your non-cable ready television

If your non-cable ready television has two screws to connect to an antenna, you will need to use a transformer to convert to a cable type connector.  You can then connect in the same manner as a cable ready television.

Note that a non-cable ready television will only receive channels 2 thru 13.  To receive upper channels, a converter box is needed or needs programmed.

Connecting Your VCR

You may connect a VCR in the same manner as a television by connecting the cable from the box on the wall to the antenna “in” connector on the VCR.  Then connect a short length of cable from the antenna “out” on the VCR to the antenna connector on the television.  Again, the same considerations apply to non-cable ready televisions and the transformer.  You may use a cable ready VCR with a non-cable ready television to view the upper channels of the cable system, as long as you use the VCR as the tuner.

Connecting Your FM stereo system

Connect as you would for a non-cable ready television.  You may also connect both a television and stereo using an FM splitter.  Simply connect a short length of cable from the wall connector to the FM splitter.  Then connect an appropriate length of cable from the FM tap to your stereo.  Finally, connect an appropriate length of cable from the TV connector of the splitter to the television.
