The purpose of the Student Nurses’ Association is:
- To contribute to nursing education
- To keep the members informed of current nursing issues and concerns
- To help the student develop as a person and a professional
The functions of this organization include the following:
- To have input into nursing education standards at the university, state, and national level.
- To involve nursing students in community activities and other activities that promotes health or health care and address social issues.
- To provide members with a system of support, communication, and a forum for discussion.
- To provide members interactions with other disciplines, peers, and faculty.
- To carry out recruitment efforts for IUP Student Nurses’ Association, to encourage participation in student activities, and promote a positive image of nursing at all times.
- To promote and encourage collaborative relationships with nursing and related health organizations.
- To inform Student Nurses of their rights.
To be a member of the IUP Student Nurses’ Association, one must be a student at IUP enrolled in the Department of Nursing. For more information on this organization, please contact the president and/or advisor listed below.
