Women’s Club at IUP

The Women’s Club of IUP (formerly known as the Dames Club and the Faculty Wives Club) was founded in 1949 and has been perpetuated for the purpose of fostering friendship and sociability among the members.

All women employees and personnel of the university or wives of employees and personnel who work at least one-half time at one of the three campuses and are in one of the following categories are eligible for membership:

  • Faculty, managers, deans, vice presidents, Unit II administrators, SUA administrators, grant-funded coordinators, and coaches
  • Managerial staff of the Student Cooperative Association and the Foundation for IUP, and ROTC personnel
  • Nurses, nurse practitioners, and physicians
  • Emeritus members, including retired women faculty and those whose husbands are retired or deceased
  • Female IUP presidents, current or retired, and wives of retired IUP presidents shall be honorary members with full voting privileges

No woman who has been a member shall lose her eligibility for membership by virtue of a change in marital or employment status.
