The purpose of Kappa Delta Pi shall be to encourage and to recognize outstanding contributions to education. To this end, membership is open to all IUP teachers and students who exhibit commendable personal qualities, worthy educational ideals, and sound scholarship. The chapter shall endeavor to maintain a high degree of professional fellowship among its members and to quicken professional growth by honoring and encouraging outstanding achievement in educational work.
