The Center for Research in Criminology (CRC):
- Conducts and promotes scholarly research in criminology and criminal justice
- Sponsors research and establishes relations with other institutions/agencies at the local, state, national, and international levels
- Attracts scholars for residency programs
- Provides a resource center
- Acts as a clearinghouse for proposals and information
- Provides technical assistance
- Seeks external funding
- Engages in research activities that relate to the general study of Criminology
The CRC works with the IUP Department of Criminology and the School of Graduate Studies and Research to maintain a supportive research environment for the faculty and to nurture graduate student research. The CRC also facilitates research contracts by the Department of Criminology faculty, other faculty members at IUP, state and local criminal justice officials, and funding agencies.
