Sergeant First Class Eric SteeleSFC Steele began his military career in 1987, serving three years of active duty. SFC Steele joined the Pennsylvania Army National Guard while attending Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He was assigned to Company A, 110th Infantry Battalion, 28th Infantry Division, Indiana, Pa.

SFC Steele is a graduate of the Primary Leadership Development Course, Basic Noncommissioned Officer’s Course, Bradley Fighting Vehicle crew evaluator course, Bradley Net, Battle Focus Instructor Training Course, Unit Safety Officer Course, Combat Life Saver, and Anti-Terrorism Officer level 2. He also graduated from the ARNG Recruiting and Retention Noncommissioned Officers Course located in Camp Robinson, Ark.

Since joining the Pennsylvania Army National Guard, SFC Steele has been in three overseas missions: Baltic Challenge 98, KFOR5A peacekeeping mission in Kosovo, and OIF5-7 (Operation Iraqi Freedom). His military awards and decorations include Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, National Defense Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Kosovo Campaign Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Nato Medal, Reserve Overseas Service Ribbon, and Combat and NCO Professional Development Ribbon with Numeral 3. SFC Steele was also awarded the Combat Infantry Badge, Basic Recruiting and Retention NCO Badge, and Expert Marksmanship Badge. SFC Steele attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania. SFC Steele is married and has twin children, age five. The Steele family currently resides in Indiana, Pa.
