The Pennsylvania Center for the Study of Labor Relations has undertaken research projects on a variety of subjects. The Labor Center’s goal in such undertakings is to help clarify issues important to workers and unions in various areas of public concern:

Pennsylvania Coal

  • The Future of Pennsylvania Coal, 1992, produced through a Pennsylvania Legislative Initiative Grant.
  • A Coal Communities Resources Rehabilitation Board: Implications for a Comprehensive Pennsylvania Policy for Economic Development and Taxation, 1993, produced for the Center for Rural Pennsylvania.  

Health and Safety

  • Workers’ Compensation Medical Access, Study—produced for the Department of Labor and Industry, 1996.
  • Pennsylvania Labor-Management Safety Committees—produced for Pennsylvania MILRITE Council, 1995.
