Upcoming 2013 On- and Off-Campus Interview/Recruitment Opportunities
On-Campus Career Fairs and Networking Events
Wednesday, October 2, 2013, 1:00–4:00 p.m.
Don’t miss out on this opportunity to meet representatives from local and national companies and organizations. Employers will be looking for individuals for full-time positions, as well as internships and co-ops. The Career Expo also provides you an opportunity to explore employers and career opportunities that you may have never thought about. Participating also provides you with an opportunity for face-to-face contact with recruiters and a chance to polish your networking skills (no matter how brief your contact). Although the Career Expo is primarily intended for IUP juniors and seniors of all majors, freshmen and sophomores may also attend to get a general idea of what a career fair entails.
Off-Campus Career Fairs and Networking Events
The Northside Works Job Fair will be held on May 17, 2013, from 2:00–5:00 p.m. at 1439 North Franklin Street in Manchester (Pittsburgh).
Register for College Central Network!
On-campus recruitment and/or interview opportunities are posted on College Central Network (CCN), an online service which employers use to post full-time positions, advertise internships, and arrange for on-campus interviews.
To submit your name for on-campus interviews, you must first register with College Central Network and download a current resume. Once you are registered on CCN and log in, you will see a heading titled Search for Opportunities Posted to My School. Once you click on that link, you will see information regarding School Job Search. You can enter your search criteria, including clicking on the On-Campus Interviewing Jobs link. You will then see a listing of all employers who are conducting on-campus interviews during the semester. If the position is something for which you would want to interview, you may submit your resume by clicking the Submit to Posting button at the bottom of the page.
Once you have submitted your resume, it will be reviewed by the recruiter that posted the position. If you are selected for an interview, you will get a notice when you log on to CCN instructing you to select an interview time. If you are selected, you may receive the notification anytime leading up to a day or two before the interview is conducted.
Note: Please take advantage of the opportunities for on-campus interviews! The recruiter is saving you time and money by coming to IUP, rather than having you travel to their location. Be willing to consider positions that you may not think are perfect—you might be pleasantly surprised! If you have the qualifications and the recruiter wants to interview you, it also does not hurt to gain valuble experience about how interviews are conducted, what types of questions you may be asked, etc.
