The Pennsylvania Labor Center, based at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, was established in 1976 to provide training, education, and technical assistance to union members, officers, and staff across the state. The focus of the program is to strengthen labor organizations and build the skills necessary to effectively meet the needs and concerns of union members. The center also works to improve labor-management relations in the unionized sector of Pennsylvania’s economy.

The center aids unions to effectively represent an increasingly diverse membership, to train the next generation of union leaders for facing the challenges of the new millennium, and to prepare unions to exercise their full rights in the workplace and community. From its inception, the center has sought to provide union representatives and local union officers with programs that are practical, affordable, and stamped with the union label.

Programs can be tailored to meet the needs of any union and can be offered anywhere in the commonwealth.
