SAHE Admissions Requirements
- Minimum GPA of 2.8 (3.0 preferred)
- Graduate School Application Packet:
- IUP Graduate Admission application and application fee (IUP Graduate Admissions)
- Graduate assistantship application (online application)
- Official college transcript(s)
- Goal statement, signed and dated (sent to the Graduate School)
- Two letters of reference: One letter from a faculty member to communicate your academic strengths and one letter from a professional.
(applicants who have been out of school for five years may submit two professional references)
- Additional SAHE department materials to be sent directly to the SAHE Department:
- Personal Data Form (electronic version or print version)
- Statement of Interest in Student Affairs, which differs from Graduate School Goal Statement. The SAHE statement of interest is more specific and should highlight your interest and reasons for pursuing student affairs as your graduate program.
- Current resume
- Submit SAHE department materials directly to the SAHE department (either as an e-mail attachment to sahe-admissions@iup.edu or via U.S. mail to the department address below).

The School of Graduate Studies and Research at IUP operates under a “rolling admissions” process. As a result, SAHE applications are reviewed throughout the year.
Applications for the Fall 2013 cohort are now being accepted; applications are no longer being considered for the Fall 2012 cohort.
Individuals interested in the SAHE program are encouraged to apply as early as possible each year, prior to January 15, in order to participate in the department’s Visitation and Graduate Assistant Interview days, scheduled for mid-Spring.
